EWL Trainings

On behalf of the Academy for International Cooperation (AIZ), the training center of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), madiba is conducting the online training "Empowering Women for Leadership".

The training is aimed at female GIZ employees who are not currently in a management position. It is designed to help participants make a decision about whether or not they see themselves in a disciplinary management role in the future. Furthermore, the seminar also focusses on developing necessary skills for career advancement.

It includes modules that address various aspects critical to female leadership, such as navigating organizational contexts, addressing gender stereotypes in leadership, and building self-confidence and assertiveness. Participants will also learn effective networking strategies and explore personal strategies to achieve leadership roles. The programme is not only intended to equip women with the skills needed for leadership roles but also to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where they can explore and define their leadership aspirations within GIZ.

The training programme aims at...:

  • enabling the participants to reflect on the topic of "female leadership" and typical male/female behaviour in the work context,
  • strengthening their existing resources and the confidence in their own strengths and competences,
  • reflecting on their understanding of leadership and their attitude as a future manager at GIZ,
  • developing a clear picture of for instance, whether or not they aspire to a management position
  • and use this to derive personal strategies for taking on a leadership role as a woman.
