Central Project Evaluation of the project "Crisis -preventive Reconstruction“

Internal and external factors have heavily contributed to an overall unstable and complicated situation of the region on the ground in Iraq. This has led to hundreds of thousands of inhabitants of Ninewa being IDPs (internally displaced persons), mostly living in the city of Mosul. The resilience of IDPs remains low and constantly under threat.

The GIZ project sought to address this issue in different country areas like the Ninewa province, the city of Mosul, and the district of Hamdaniya. Subsequently, three fields of action have been identified:

1. The strengthening of public services,

2. Generating income at the household-level and

3. Promoting social cohesion and peaceful coexistence.

madiba Consult was responsible for the central project evaluation of this GIZ project. We delivered substantial services by developing an inception report, an evaluation report and by conducting interviews as the cornerstones of our data collection, which was the result of rigorous on-ground activities carried out by the evaluation team consisting of an international and a local evaluator. madiba Consult was responsible for the organization of the mission, the implementation, and the postprocessing of the results obtained.
